Pre-Baby Counseling

“Making the decision to have a child - it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ”
— Elizabeth Stone

Starting a family is an exciting time, filled with dreams, fears and hope.  Research shows that two thirds of relationship satisfaction lower significantly during the first year of a baby's life.  The other third experienced the same or higher level of satisfaction in their relationship.  Utilizing the findings of John Gottman, pre-baby counseling focuses on strengthening  your relationship and learning skills to make the transition into parenthood an easier and more satisfying experience. It also dives into mental labor and working on how to divide up responsibilities that include the invisible work that women tend to do. Generally pre-baby counseling is 4-6 sessions.  Small group pre-baby counseling is available as well.
